Biography
|
Carol Clasper gives lectures and teaches classes and workshops in patchwork, quilting, machine embroidery, fabric dyeing and designing quilts using Electric Quilt 6 and Quilt Pro throughout the UK.
She has also been a hand and machine knitter/designer for many years and holds a First Class Diploma in the use of Brother knitting machines and an Honours Diploma in the use of the Pfaff/Passap knitting machine. She also has many years experience in the use of Designaknit software which she also teaches.
Her computer aided quilting and machine knitting classes are strengthened by her 25 year background in computers and presentation skills learned during her career as an Information Technology Manager with Digital Equipment Company Limited in Scotland and Scottish Hydro.
Carol is a Graduate of the City & Guilds course in Patchwork and Quilting. She was nominated for the Medal of Excellence for her work in Part 2 of the City & Guilds course which she completed in 2001. She has recently completed City & Guilds Level 1 in Creative Computing in Stitched Textiles and is currently taking Level 2 and is also training to become a Quilt Judge with the Quilters' Guild of the British Isles.
Carol’s goal as a teacher is to help her students express their own creativity by using colour and design to create exciting quilts in both traditional and innovative styles and travels worldwide attending workshops to enhance her skills.
