Tibetan symbol for Spirit was traced into EQ5, printed into fabric and hand painted with fabric paint.
Cotton background with paper, Angelina fibres and layered chiffon. Sillk rods were added with copper wire and beads. Butterflies were made using a commercial stamp and Angelina fibres.
Hand dyed cotton background. Heated and embossed copper shim with accent beads added.
A poem by Caryl Ramsdale inspired this quilt. Embossed and stitched copper shim on a silk background. The poem was printed onto fabric and the edges burnt.
Hand dyed cotton, chiffon, hand dyed silk tops and machine embroidered background. Art straws were painted and embossing powders added. Flowers were made using hand painted Timtex and a built-in embroidery stitch on the Pfaff.
In the Spring of 2004 I took a digital photograph of a Fritilaria Imperialis and enhanced it in Photoshop. I printed it onto silk and free machine embroidered it.
I took a photograph of felled trees and printed it onto two different fabrics. I layered them up and cut away the top fabric revealing layers of colour.
Three pieces of light weight tyvek were painted in different colours. I stitched the three layers together using a random design. I then "zapped" it with a heat tool to distort and reveal the different colours.
An icon was printed onto silk. I took some plastic canvas and stitched it with cord. Hand dyed abaca tissue was applied to the surface using PVA glue. Gold foil and various fibres were then stitched on top.
I took a digital photograph of a marigold and added a background in photoshop. Printed it onto silk and it is free machine embroidered using a variegated thread.
Hand dyed background. Seahorses were made using machine embroidered, hand painted and heated translucent tissue. Various beads were then added.
Fussy cut butterflies appliqued to a cotton background. Butterflies were painted with a stiffener to give a 3-D effect.
