Fragments

I designed “Delicate Fragments” as a result of experimenting with Painted bondaweb, layered chiffon and slips of brass shim stitched using free machine zigzag. The finished piece is very delicate.

Winter Leaves

Skeleton leaves on a had dyed background with added Angelina fibres. Layers of chiffon were added to change the colour and trap the leaves. Machine quilted with monofilament thread.

Deep Blue Sea

Layered hand dyed silk tops heavily quilted. Hand painted timtex embosed with Stewart Gill embossing powders with added fibres.

The Tiger

I made a stencil of the tiger. Fused some black fabric and cut out each individual piece of fabric and fused it to a hand dyed background.

Asteroids

The background of “Asteroids” is brown parcel paper painted with silk paints. Hand dyed scrim was applied together with a mixture of Angelina fibres in colours matching the scrim. Beads and Swarovski crystals were then applied.

Spun PVA

“Spun PVA” is the result of experimenting with a hot glue gun. I painted the glue with metallic paint and hand appliquéd it to a background of muslin to which I applied Gesso painted with silk paints.

A House is a Home

“A House is a Home” was the result of an experiment using Stewart Gill Filigree medium. I painted the design using Stewart Gill Metallica and embossing powders. The piece was then free motion stitched.

Fibonacci Cloisonné

“Fibonacci Cloisonné” was the result of an experiment using the Fibonacci sequence. The piece was painted using Stewart Gill Alchemy paints. The piece was then free motion quilted.

Copper Threads

Hand dyed fabric layered and quilted. I couched a variety of threads on top and added slivers of copper shim which have been stitched and "ribbed"/
